CARTEL 2010 MERLOT
REGION
McLaren Vale, South Australia
COLOUR
Intense crimson red with deep purple hues.
BOUQUET
Rich blackcurrant and black olive give intensity of fruit. Maturation in oak for 18 months has improved the complexity and depth of aromas, with smoky vanillin notes prevailing.
PALATE
This wine is a fine example of the dense, mid-pallet fruit sweetness that McLaren Vale is famous for producing. It is Medium to Full bodied with supple, drying tannins and a layer of cedary oak that supplies a persistent lingering finish. This wine can be enjoyed now, but also has the ability to age superbly in bottle.
